A story across oceans, languages, and dreams.
I was 26 when I left Korea.
I packed more hopes than skills, and moved to the U.S. without speaking English, without knowing how to navigate a different world.
At first, I tried to hide what I didn’t know.
I worried about my name, my accent, my lack of credentials.
I chose the name Joseph — a gift from a pastor who believed I needed a bridge between two worlds.
But it wasn’t just a language I needed to learn.
It was a system.
A way of thinking, building, and belonging.
Over the years,
I studied, stumbled, adjusted, and grew.
From barely understanding a single conversation,
to leading systems, teams, and platforms at one of the world’s largest logistics companies.
- I earned my H-1B visa.
- I secured my Green Card.
- I became a U.S. citizen in 2022.
But somewhere along the way,
I realized the true milestone wasn’t paperwork.
It was this:
I no longer needed to hide my name, my story, or my vision. I was building a life where all of it belonged.
Today, Joseph Inkyu Yu is not just my name.
It’s the platform from which I build stories, systems, and freedom —
for myself,
and for the future I’m designing.
This journey across oceans and barriers wasn’t just about moving to a new country.
It was about crossing the deeper limits inside myself.
And now,
I’m just getting started.
